Numerous other international sporting events contribute to successful implementation of internationalisation strategy

Ismaning, 25. September 2009 – PLAZAMEDIA GmbH’s OB Production unit is having a busy autumn: In September the company has been commissioned to host-broadcast and provide the technology and personnel for the live production of 7 qualifying matches for the FIFA Football World Cup South Africa 2010™, 8 UEFA Champions League matches and 7 matches from the new UEFA Europa League. In all these international tournaments the focus is increasingly also on the production of pictures in High Definition (HD) format, with the Champions League even being broadcast exclusively in the new standard. PLAZAMEDIA’s clients for these productions are Sky Germany, Sky Austria, Infront Sports & Media AG, Sportfive, UEFA marketer T.E.A.M., private French channel TF1, French pay-TV channel Canal+ and Rumanian state broadcaster TVR.

Also in September, the company’s fully-owned subsidiary PLAZAMEDIA Austria has been producing all matches from the Austrian tipp3 Bundesliga powered by T-Mobile and ADEG Erste Liga since the start of the new season, as well as the pictures from the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League and the Austrian Basketball League live for Sky Sport Austria. PLAZAMEDIA Swiss AG’s activities in September include providing the basic signal for the AXPO Super League for Swiss public broadcasting corporation SRG in collaboration with tv productioncenter zürich.

Further OB production teams from PLAZAMEDIA are being kept busy this month with the European Basketball Championships in Poland, the European Table Tennis Championships in Stuttgart and the Formula 1 races in Monza and Singapore as well as the MotoGP in Misano and Estoril.
