Ismaning, 07.07.04. PLAZAMEDIA GmbH is to produce all the matches of the UEFA Intertoto Cup with German participation for Premiere to begin immediately. The competition began last Saturday with the 2:3 loss of VFL Wolfsburg to the Swiss team FC Thun. In the next UI Cup round, the clubs Hamburg SV, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 entered the fray. Germany's leading sport TV producer also acted as the host broadcaster for the home matches for these clubs.
PLAZAMEDIA also scored points in football internationally. Aside from the matches for the Swiss Axpo Super League (for Sat.1 Switzerland), the sport TV experts from Ismaning will produce the matches of the Austrian league. For Premiere Austria, PLAZAMEDIA will broadcast all the matches of the T-Mobile Bundesliga and of the Red Zac Erste Liga – a total of 1080 exciting games over three years – live as the general producer. The conference channel, awarded the German television prize in 2003, will also be rolled out for Austria. This programme format assures that Austrian football fans will not miss any important scenes on their television sets. The Viennese subscriber TV broadcaster has contracted the Ismaning sport experts to produce all the matches of the two leagues all the way through 2007. To kick off the 2004/2005 season, FC Wacker Tirol and Liebherr GAK will meet at Innsbruck on July 13 at 19.30. PLAZAMEDIA is also to produce the Champions League matches in Austria and the UEFA Cup games with Austrian participation.
"The two production contracts show how we are consistently expanding our presence on the international playing field", said Florian Nowosad, General Manager for PLAZAMEDIA.
