Ismaning, 25th June 2007 – PLAZAMEDIA, Germany’s biggest sports-TV producer, has reaped further success with its internationalisation strategy by landing new contracts. Over the next three years PLAZAMEDIA Austria will produce all football matches from the top two Austrian leagues T-Mobile Bundesliga and Red Zac Erste Liga for PREMIERE and ORF. In Switzerland, PLAZAMEDIA has signed an exclusive partnership deal with tv productioncenter zürich (tpc) to produce, among other events, the Axpo Super League football matches.

Florian Nowosad, PLAZAMEDIA CEO, comments: "Signing the contracts for these major foreign productions is a milestone in our internationalisation activities. It has allowed us to extend our established partnerships long-term and thus make a important contribution to the combined strategy of the EM.TV group. To boost business in these markets still further, we are planning – after Austria in 2006 – to open a branch in Switzerland by the end of this year."

For PREMIERE Austria, PLAZAMEDIA Austria will also produce all top matches from the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League in the coming three seasons, plus next season’s top games from the Austrian Basketball League. As part of the live broadcasts, the company will supply the basic signal, which will also be taken over by ORF. In addition, PLAZAMEDIA Austria will supply all football and ice hockey matches for the Fan TV of Red Bull Salzburg. The package also includes the accompanying studio production and technically complex features such as the conference channel developed by PLAZAMEDIA on behalf of PREMIERE.

For tpc, PLAZAMEDIA will produce the top weekly match plus a Saturday match from the Swiss Axpo Super League (season 2007/2008) as well as other sporting events. The clients are Teleclub, Cinetrade AG and the public-service Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG). As well as top-flight football, the collaboration includes the production of other winter sports as well as cultural and event formats.
