Ismaning, 1 August 2008 – PLAZAMEDIA, Germany’s biggest sports-TV producer, and PREMIERE, Germany’s leading subscription channel, have stepped up their working partnership with an innovative joint project: Production of the "British Open" golf tournament, which took place from 17 – 20 July 2008, was processed for the first time on PLAZAMEDIA’s digital service platform eCenter. This involved the live signal being digitally recorded and processed directly on the eCenter platform. This simplified workflow meant that also the repeats and the one-hour highlights magazine could be created on a file basis by the editors. Through the shared infrastructure of the Recording, Post-production, Archiving, Broadcasting and Studio sections, the eCenter digital service platform allows end-to-end file-based, live-capable and highly efficient production processing. This allows PLAZAMEDIA GmbH to offer its customers the maximum possible commercial benefit.

"Following the integration of the eCenter services into the contract with Disney, our customer PREMIERE has now also processed its first format via eCenter. We will gradually transfer the productions from a tape-based workflow to an innovative file-based one with PREMIERE.
