PLAZAMEDIA to produce Mercedes Cup as host broadcaster and for SPORT1
From 10 to 18 July 2010 the tennis world will convene at Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart, Germany to compete for the 32nd Mercedes Cup.

Ismaning, 13 July 2010 – From 10 to 18 July 2010 the tennis world will convene at Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart, Germany to compete for the 32nd Mercedes Cup. PLAZAMEDIA will produce the star-studded clay-court tournament from 13 July through to the final as host broadcaster on behalf of events agency emotion as well as for sports channel SPORT1.

The sports-TV producer will have a crew of around 20 and an OB unit at the venue and will capture the matches with a total of 7 cameras. As well as the main camera, these will include two cameras on round rails, an SSL camera, a handheld camera and one for beauty shots. PLAZAMEDIA will also test new camera systems and positions during the tournament together with TV SKYLINE, its partner for Camera Moving Systems, with the aim of finding innovative setups on the spot which will allow them to convey the dynamics of tennis even better in the future.

As in previous years, the 2010 Mercedes Cup will bring together some of the world’s best clay-court specialists. As well German number one Philipp Kohlschreiber, Wimbledon doubles winner Philipp Petzschner will also be competing in Stuttgart, as will top international stars French Open semi-finalist and Wimbledon doubles winner Jürgen Melzer (Austria), Nikolay Davydenko (Russia), Gael Monfils (France) and Juan Carlos Ferrero (Spain).

SPORT1 will broadcast the tournament from the 2nd round onwards (13 July) live and exclusive. Transmission times are Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday and Sunday from 4.00 p.m., and Friday from 4.15 p.m.
